Francis C. A. Moyer, BFA
Francis was born in the United States and studied at the Academy of Fine Arts in Philadelphia from 1959-1961. His studies included drawing, oil painting, sculpture and printmaking. His training was in the Academic tradition and placed emphasis on anatomy, perspective, and the use of chiaroscuro (the treatment of light and shadow). Following service in the US Army in Europe, Francis returned to New York City where he studied contemporary arts. Since graduation Francis has taught art in both the United States and Canada, and he has travelled extensively to study the work of the old masers that have influenced his work.
